BROMS integrates information from AWP, WinCPMS, CANSYS II, and various systems to manage the State Bridge Office's operations and reporting activities. It is also used to provide FHWA reporting and costing information.

BrM (Bridge Management) is a bridge management system developed by AASHTO that stores State owned and maintained bridge inventory and inspection data; formulates preservation and improvement policies for use in evaluating bridge needs and makes recommendations for projects to include in an agency’s capital plan.

BrM (Bridge Management) and BIP (Bridge Inspection Portal) stores inventory and inspection data for Locally owned and maintained bridges. It adds KDOT specific functionality to software developed by the AASHTO according to specifications provided by the FHWA to support bridge management.

This system manages Kansas road network and roadway inventory data (Examples of this are traffic counts, accident locations, pavement summary, shoulder and median data).

Provides a cash flow forecast used by the Executive staff at KDOT to aid in making decisions regarding the agency’s road building and maintenance programs.

This system provides for the payment to cities for the maintenance of city connecting links, which are city streets that are used as part of the highway system.

Used to manage statewide inventory of KDOT consumables. The system maintains inventory locations and stock item description information, and processes receipts, issues, and transfers.

CIMS

CAPS is used by the Office of Chief Counsel to receive and manage requests for contracts or contract reviews. To track the status of a request, please visit the KDOT Reports Portal.

CAPS

This is the core transactional database of all financial-related efforts used to collect, balance, edit, assign, distribute, and archive financial information.

Provides a single point of data entry for recording work efforts across KDOT’s six geographic districts and headquarters in Topeka. This allows for the input and reporting of resource usage and produces efficient and secure output information for crew chiefs.

The Data Warehouse serves as a central repository for KDOT data and provides a snapshot of the latest data from the majority of KDOT transactional systems. Tools such as Web Intelligence (Webi), Power BI, and Crystal Reports can be used with the data warehouse for ad-hoc reports, analysis and making data-driven decisions.

Electronic Forms are supported by RWM (Records and Workflow Management). They consist of Accident and Loss Reporting Process, Fill and Print Forms, Highway Access Permit System, and the Workflow Management System.

The Electronic Bridge Inspection (EBI) application is a configurable COTS package developed for bridge inspectors to record and upload bridge inspection data electronically. After review, the data will be stored in the Bridge Intelligence AWS cloud environment and transferred to the Local and State BrM databases.

This Incident Management application supports the Division of Safety with the ability to manage employee Incident Injury data. When an 1101a is filled out as part of the Accident, Damage and Loss forms and workflow, the relevant data is added to the incident data tables.

The KeystoneWeb application is used to manage KDOT’s BEST Master Key Inventory System, by tracking Employees, KHP and Vendors who have keys to doors or padlocks for our buildings or gates, etc. within each District, Area and Subarea throughout the State.

The Personnel Portal application was developed to be a single point of access for HR, Supervisors, Managers and Employees to view Employee information within their purview. At this time, access is limited to HR only.

Collects equipment miles and hours used. This system is used for data entry and reconciliation of equipment usage. The information collected is also sent to the Cost Center Feedback System, where dollars paid are assigned and distributed to various cost centers, including projects.

Provides a repository for fill-and-print forms, which allows for easy searching and retrieval of forms. It allows pre-population of Formflow, InfoPath, and Adobe PDF forms.

Forms Warehouse

Automated fueling system for authorizing and dispensing fuel and uploading fuel issue data to the Consumable Inventory System. A commercial-off-the-shelf product that replaced the Fuel Tracking System (TRAKS).

Imaging consists of CADD/CAM - Computer Aided Drafting and Design/Computer Aided Mapping and Electronic Surveying/Photogrammetry. CADD/CAM is the computer system for technical engineering design, drawing, and modeling.

K-TRIPS provides routing, permitting, and enforcement of oversized and overweight vehicles traveling Kansas state roads.

The KDOT Reports Portal is a Business Objects enterprise reporting environment that serves published reports developed by KDOT Staff and/or consultants to KDOT management, employees, and consultants. Published reports are developed using tools such as Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence (Webi).

A Learning Management System (LMS) and talent Management System (TMS). It supplies, logs and reports all employee knowledge requirements in real time. The system also houses the Agency's Performance Review Forms inside the TMS.

The MQA Dashboard is an Arc-GIS map-driven, web-based tool designed to help users explore data collected within the Maintenance Quality Assurance (MQA) program. This tool allows users to calculate maintenance category and rating element level of service (LOS) scores, query, and filter MQA data, export MQA data into various formats, and analyze MQA data.

SHARP Staging Environment. This provides a staging area for data manipulation, allowing personnel information to be received from SHaRP via the KPAY286A and KPAY286B data sets.

SMART Staging Environment. This provides a staging area for data manipulation, allowing information to be sent and received between KDOT and SMART. Data includes vendor, purchase order, project, voucher, payment, etc.

The SARC application is owned by the Division of Safety and supports the Statewide Accident Reporting Committee disciplinary process when there are damages to KDOT equipment. Access to this system is limited and must be requested via a 543 form.

The MQA Program is a web-based application used to track, report and prioritize maintenance needs based on randomly selected .01-mile samples, where highway components and conditions are physically inspected for Level of Service criteria.

Used by non-Crew Card employees, TimeRS collects employee hours worked and interfaces with the state’s SHaRP system. This system is used for data entry and reconciliation of time worked.

Traffic Safety Studies (TSS) is a web-based application developed by KDOT. It allows KDOT staff to request a traffic safety study and tracks the life of the traffic safety study. The application utilizes a GIS interface to record and provide location information for each traffic safety study.
